Mission Statement

Home Theater Builder magazine is a unique publication in the home theater industry. Rather than filling our pages with flashy images of million dollar home theaters or hundreds of equipment and DVD reviews, we strive to truly educate enthusiast consumers on what is involved in making the theater of their dreams take shape in their own home.

By having home theater projects as the core of the magazine, with other editorial including articles on technology, decor, an objective product showcase, home theater stare-to-finish, reader's home theater, and much more, we appeal to a higher ratio of active buyers who are in the stages of planning the purchase of gear and materials to either build a home theater from scratch or upgrade an existing home theater space.

Our goal is to educate them on the value of buying better equipment and completing more involved projects, which helps them to justify the expense. Some of the projects we feature will inspire the consumer to employ the services of a custom designer and installer, while others are project ideas that they may undertake themselves.

Home Theater Builder also strives to reach a rapidly growing and virtually untapped demographic: the Do-It-Yourself market. The huge growth and success of home improvement stores in America is an indisputable indication of the growing desire that the average home owner has to be more hands-on in their home improvement. The home theater market is no exception. Enthusiasts are, by definition, very hands-on when it comes to buying equipment. Our readers have a desire to be educated on all aspects of home theater and, with the focus of our content, we are able to do just that. An educated reader not only selects their own equipment, but also influences the purchasing decision of their friends and colleagues.
